Services include providing arrival information, newcomers orientations and tours, and a well stocked lending closet of kitchen and household supplies. Cultural adaptation classes are offered to assist in adjusting quickly in Germany. Sponsorship training, PCS briefings and Smooth Move classes ensure that all are prepared as they transition.

Lending Closet

Borrow a Lending Closet Kit while you wait for your household goods to arrive or when in between moves. The kit includes basic kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes, silverware) and small appliances such as irons, coffee makers, and toasters.

Kits can be checked out for 30 days with possible extensions.

Life Here 101

Introduces and connects you to agencies like TRICARE, Health Clinic, Dental, Vehicle Registration, Customs, CYS, ACS Employment Program to name a few. Network with the subject matter experts, meet fellow spouses and learn more about your new home.

Host Nation Orientation

Learn about German customs, culture and phrases while being introduced to your new community to include several military agencies. Enjoy a walking tour of downtown Wiesbaden where you will learn how to use the public transportation, use the ticket machines and to read train and bus schedules and navigate around.

Host Nation Orientation meets every Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Army Community Service Multipurpose Room, (Building 7790 in Hainerberg Housing).

Language Classes

Global Connections

Make new friends and get to know your community. Get together with fellow spouses to share experiences, stories and good conversation during the monthly Global Connections meeting, hosted by Army Community Service's Relocation Readiness Program.

Global Connections is held every second Wednesday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ACS Multipurpose Room in Building 7790 in Hainerberg Housing.

Spouse Sponsorship and Training

This is a peer-to-peer spouse's program which helps other spouses who are relocating to the Wiesbaden community. Get insight into what to expect in an overseas move, life in Germany, and get to know a "seasoned" spouse during your initial transition. We also offer training to individuals, units and agencies who have individuals/personnel interested in becoming spouse sponsors themselves. Please call ACS to schedule your training.
