Moving is a fact of military life

It is also one of life’s high-stress events. The Relocation Readiness Program supports America’s mobile Army through educational training, guidance and outreach efforts. Available in group and individual settings.

Willkommen to Deutschland!

Here to help

Services include providing arrival information, newcomers orientations and tours, and a well stocked lending closet of kitchen and household supplies. Cultural adaptation classes are offered to assist in adjusting quickly in Germany. Sponsorship training, PCS briefings and Smooth Move classes ensure that all are prepared as they leave the Wiesbaden area.

Lending Closet

Borrow loaner kits that include basic kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc.) while you wait for your household goods. Items such as irons, coffee makers, play pens and high chairs are available for a loan period of 30 days. A copy of your orders and ID card are required to check out loan closet items.

Starting March 1, 2016, the Lending Closet is open Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday from 1-3 p.m.

Welcome Packets

Welcome packets include on– and off-post information (e.g. brochures and information booklets on the local community, including events, shopping, restaurants, city maps and more).

Sponsorship Training

Classes are designed for service members to learn how to properly assist and sponsor incoming service members, civilian employees and family members during the relocation process. The intent is to minimize problems associated with relocating to a new duty station.

Host Nation Orientation

Learn about German customs, culture and phrases while being introduced to your new community to include several military agencies. Enjoy a walking tour of downtown Wiesbaden where you will learn how to use the public transportation ticket machines and to read train and bus schedules.

Language Classes
  • English As A Second Language -- Become familiar with basic English language rules. Classes are offered in six-week increments with different levels of teaching.
  • German Language -- You will learn the basics and other phrases of the German language and cultural differences, which will help you while you travel in and around Germany during your tour. Class also covers German modern life and cultural norms.
Foreign-Born Spouses

Learn about different lifestyles including the American way of life, the military lifestyle and also about the culture of Germany.

Spouse Sponsorship

This program is designed to connect incoming spouses with “seasoned” ones. Much like the Soldier Sponsorship, ACS provides training and meetings for spouses to network with each other. This is available for military and civilian, male and female, new and seasoned spouses.
