Tree Lighting Celebration

Join fellow community members in celebrating the season during the U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Tree Lighting Celebration on Dec. 5 from 5-10 p.m. on Clay Kaserne. The event kicks off with performances by local school choirs and bands at the Clay Kaserne Chapel, opening remarks and a visit by the Jolly Old Elf. The Community Activity Center will feature photos with Santa, children's activities, an MWR prize drawing and a special buffet ($6.95 for adults, $3.95 for children ages 6-11, free for children ages 5 and under).

Here's a breakdown of the events starting at the Clay Chapel and moving to the Community Activity Center:

• 5 p.m. -- Private Organization Sales begin
• 5:30 p.m. -- Wiesbaden school combined band and choirs perform
• 5:30 p.m. -- Chaplain's invocation
• 5:55 p.m. -- Special guest greetings and opening remarks
• 6 p.m. -- Arrival of Santa
• 6:10 p.m. -- Tree lighting
• 6:15 p.m. -- Santa heads to the Community Activity Center
• 6:30-9 p.m. -- Photos with Santa, children's activities, MWR prize drawing
• 6-9 p.m. -- Special buffet meal (Please note: This doesn't start until 6 p.m.)
