2026 Army Outdoor Recreation Hiking & Biking Challenge

Upon successful completion and verification of mileage, participants will receive awards based on their achievements:

• For cycling distances of 250 km, 500 km, and 1000 km, participants will earn a 250 km single medal, a 500K single medal and a 1000K medal, all three medals connect to create on large coin.
• For hiking distances of 25 km, 50 km, and 100 km, participants will be awarded a 25 km patch, a 50 km patch, and a 100 km patch. When combined, these patches create a cohesive large scene.

Cycling Challenge

Participants will pay a $50 registration fee and engage in outdoor cycling rides to complete an accumulation of 250 kilometer (155.34 miles) 500 kilometers (310.6 miles) and 1000 kilometers (621.4 miles) to earn their 1-, 2- or 3- piece commemorative medals.

Hiking Challenge

Participants will pay a $50 registration fee and engage in outdoor hikes to complete an accumulation of 25 kilometers (15.53 miles), 50 kilometers (31.06 miles) and 100 kilometers (62.13 miles) to earn their commemorative patches. One patch for each distance completed.

All participants who pay the registration fees will qualify for a custom cycling jersey (cycling program) or custom T-Shirt (hiking program).

Each participant is responsible for their own distance tracking and record keeping. Electronic tracking devices are highly encouraged. Recommended applications are: Strava, Map My Ride, Map My Hike, Komoot, CyclemeterGPS, All Trails, and others.

Only outdoor biking or hiking will be accepted.
