Women's Equality Day Hero WOD

A fitness challenge in honor of a fallen warrior

The Wiesbaden Sports and Fitness Center celebrates Women's Equality Day and the life of a fallen warrior, 1st Lt. Ashley White, with a special challenge on Aug. 28, starting at 10 a.m.

This Hero Workout of the Day includes:

  • Five rounds for time
  • Three 15-foot rope climbs
  • 10 toes to the bars
  • 21 overhead walking lunges (43/35-pound plate)
  • 400-meter run

Lt. White, of Alliance, Ohio, was killed after an attack by insurgents on her unit in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, in October 2011. She was serving with the 230th Brigade Support Battalion, 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team, North Carolina National Guard. She is survived by her husband Capt. Jason Strumpf, her parents Robert and Deborah, brother Josh and sister Brittney.
