Trip to Verdun

Commemorating the Centennial of World War I

The Wiesbaden Library and Outdoor Recreation invite participants to experience an interactive trip to the historic area of Verdun, France, -- site of the largest and longest battle of World War I. Starting on Feb. 21, 1916, and ending on Dec. 18 of the same year, the battle took more than 700,000 lives.

Tour-goers will visit three important sites -- the Memorial de Verdun, Ossuaire de Douaumont and Forte de Douaumont -- along with a stop in the town of Verdun (for leisure time).

Passports are required. The trip is designed for ages 16 and above.

Cost

$99 including entrance fees and round-trip bus fare.

Registration Information

Register at the Wiesbaden, Sports, Fitness and Outdoor Recreation Center. Registration deadline is Nov. 9.
