MWR and AFCU July Fourth Fireworks Celebration

We’re celebrating our nation’s Independence Day with a spectacular fireworks display.

The Fourth of July Fireworks presented by Andrews Federal Credit Union will be hosted on the airfield with a car park viewing area. Spots are available for up to 400 vehicles by registration only. Registration for DoD ID cardholders is on a first-come, first-served basis. Click HERE to fill out and submit the form. (If you aren’t sure that your form is saving your input, please include the same requested information in the body of your email as a backup.)

Deadline to submit registration forms is 5 p.m. on July 3.

The first 400 registrants will be sent information on when and where to enter the car park. Registration forms will be accepted until July 3, but, again, only 400 vehicles can be accommodated.

Additional on-site support is being provided by AFN and the USO.

The 30-minute firework show is expected to begin around 10:30 p.m. and will be livestreamed on MWR Facebook. Facebook viewers will have a chance to win several prizes during the countdown to the fireworks.

Here are some things to keep in mind during the event:

• DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE
• Vehicle decorations are not authorized enroute to the event. Onsite vehicle decoration is authorized. However all vehicle decoration must be removed before exiting the event.    
• No reserved parking spots
• No loud music
• No group gatherings
• No Local National sign-in to attend the event authorized  
• Each vehicle will have a two-meter "safe zone" around it for blanket seating
• Do bring fold up chairs, blankets, coolers
• Toilets will be on site and available
• No pets
• Any type of firework, sparklers, snaps, etc. are not allowed
• No recreational games such as frisbee, cornhole, football
• Make sure to keep safety in mind -- have face coverings available to wear and observe social distancing
